2014 seems to be year of the Superhero with a new Hollywood blockbuster hitting our screens every month.

It’s not just the special effects and lycra which make a hit though – the music plays a pretty big part too!

This month the CBSO are presenting an all-star cast as part of its Friday Night Classics season, paying homage to stars of the silver screen and epic stage productions.

On Friday 6 June film buffs can re-live the heroes’ adventures of Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, Austin Powers and James Bond. The audience can savour the sonic thrill as conductor Richard Kaufman gives Raiders of the Lost Ark Dances with Wolves, 633 Squadron, Saving Private Ryan, The Sea Hawk, Silverado, The High and the Mighty, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and Star Trek the deluxe treatment.

To celebrate the launch of the season, the lovely folks at the CBSO have given us a pair of tickets to give away for Friday Night Classics: Heroes and Superheroes on 6th June at 7:30pm.

To be in with a chance of winning them, all have to do is follow us on Twitter at @brumpolarbears and re-tweet our competition Tweet which can be found here

The competition closes on Wednesday 4th June at 5pm.
