July is upon us, which means it’s time to dust off the Ouija board and commune with Birmingham’s annual Shock & Gore horror and fantasy film festival.

Launching with a very special festival preview night at Birmingham’s historic Highbury Hall
on Saturday 9 July
, the festival runs from Friday 15 July to Thursday 21 July and
features the usual mix of the weird, the wonderful and the just plain wrong.

This year’s festival includes a 90s horror party featuring Scream and The Crow, exclusive preview screenings including jump scare chiller Lights Out and gross out comedy horror The Greasy Strangler, an interactive screening of The Shining at Birmingham’s Highbury Hall, a Birmingham ghost tour followed by classic MR James stories and a taste along screening of the morbidly romantic Harold & Maude from Conjurer’s Kitchen.

With all this and so much more, what could top it? Well how about a screening of the true 90s cult classic, The Craft and the brand new Ghostbusters film starring Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig? That will do nicely!
